One day during her college years she wakes up with no recollection of what transpired the night before. When she goes to school, she finds out that the girl who was molested at the summer camp had killed herself and that the person who had molested her was found guilty of manslaughter. The book also deals with elements such as anger, loneliness, loss and regret. The background theme of the book is about "can things ever get back to how they used to be?" It deals with some controversial events such as suicide and violence. There is a new strain of mental illness in the book called confusing and amnesia disorder and what it means for Binx and people around them. The book also deals with prejudice because a lot of people did not understand what happened to Binx and thought that she was crazy. The book also talks about two major themes: 1) one of them is class and 2) the other is "should we change our future because of our past" There are three editions of the book which include: hardcover, paperback and e-book. The hardcover edition costs around RM30, while the paperback version costs RM19. Petter Docter wrote the story himself from his own life experiences. He used his own childhood memories to create this story and he has mastered in writing in order to portray reality and real emotions in his drawings which made this book become a success. Petter Docter is most well known for his work on Pixar's Up, Monsters, Inc., and Inside Out. He has won numerous awards including the academy award, BAFTA award and Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film with Owen Wilson. The book was published by First Second Books.
